This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and protected when you use Publication Planner (the “Tool”), a free flat-planning tool offered at publication-planner.ethical-agency.com.
Publication Planner is provided by The Ethical Agency (registration no. 2019/495067/07, South Africa), which acts as the responsible party / controller for your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (“POPIA”) and, where relevant, the UK and EU GDPR.
You can contact us about privacy at any time: hello@ethical-agency.com.
When you sign in, we collect your email address, and – if you sign in with Google – your name and the fact that Google was used. We do not see or store your Google password. Sign-in is passwordless (a one-time email link) or via Google.
The flat plans you build – project and page names, categories, statuses, notes, and any images you upload – are stored so your work is saved and available across your devices.
If you use “Share plan” or “Send to The Ethical Agency”, the relevant plan and your contact details are stored and (for the latter) sent to us so we can view it.
Basic technical data needed to run the service (e.g. session/authentication cookies and your browser’s local storage, which we use to save your work). We do not run advertising trackers.
We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract:
We do not sell your personal information. Some providers are located outside South Africa and the UK/EEA, so your information may be transferred across borders; where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses) as required by POPIA and the GDPR.
We keep your account and plans while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time, and we will do so unless we are legally required to retain certain records.
Subject to applicable law, you may: access the information we hold about you; correct or update it; request deletion; object to or restrict certain processing; request portability of your data; and withdraw consent for marketing at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@ethical-agency.com.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you may lodge a complaint with:
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No online service can be guaranteed perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we work to safeguard your data and to notify you and the relevant regulator of any breach as required by law.
The Tool is intended for professional use and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the “last updated” date above.
